Laura Ingraham: Laura Ingraham Apologizes on Her Show — How Bold Is She to Speak Out?

“Progressives won’t deliver the pragmatic government we need,” is what Fox News host Laura Ingraham has to say following the devastating Los Angeles wildfire, slamming the progressive government of California for its poor disaster response.

Back in 2020, the conservative news anchor also made headlines for mixing up photos of Fani Willis and Letitia James on air, calling them “modern-day Keystone cops.” The host of The Ingraham Angle has since offered her apologies.

Bold and unapologetically honest. These are the qualities I admire most about the 61-year-old television host. If you’re a fan of Laura Ingraham, here’s everything you should know about her life.

Laura Ingraham Biography

Laura Ingraham is many things at once—a bestselling author, renowned political commentator, and long-term host of the highly rated The Ingraham Angle. But before gravitating toward news and commentary, the Connecticut-born host initially began as a lawyer.

Early Life

Laura Anne Ingraham was born in June of 1963, in Glastonbury, a tiny town near the banks of the Connecticut River with a meager population of 35,000. Little is known about her parents, James Frederick and Anne Caroline.

After graduating from Glastonbury High School in 1981, Ingraham moved to New Hampshire to attend Dartmouth College, an Ivy League research university. By 1985, she earned her B.A. in  English literature and Russian.

Even before her stint on TV, Ingraham already held conservative convictions. During her undergraduate years, she was a staff member, later editor-in-chief, of Dartmouth’s independent conservative newspaper, The Dartmouth Review.

In 1991, Laura Ingraham was awarded a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law. While studying for her law degree, she worked as a speechwriter during Reagan’s administration and as editor of The Prospect.

Career History

Five years after working as a white-collar criminal defense attorney, Ingraham was offered her first hosting job at MSNBC. Around 2000, Ingraham switched to CBS and became the host of Watch It!, remaining there until 2007.

Alongside her TV work, Ingraham hosted a radio show on the Talk Radio Network in 2001, which would later become one of the most popular in the US, per Talkers Magazine.

That said, her biggest break came when she joined Fox News, snuggly settling in with her conservative stance. This was one year after she wrote her bestselling book, Power to the People.

In 2017, Ingraham was given her first prominent role on national TV when she hosted The Ingraham Angle. The show would later become the third most highly-rated news program on cable.

Family and Relationships

Despite massive success on screen, Ingraham never married. The closest she got was in 2005 when she got engaged to James Reyes. She’s currently a single mother of three children, Maria, Michael, and Nikolai.

Final Thoughts

As a conservative commentator in this progressive age, Laura Ingraham is no stranger to public backlash. Despite all that, the TV host who grew up in a small town in Connecticut remains steadfast in her values and principles. Now, that’s something I say we all can admire.
